What's new in the latest versions of MOCCA?

Patch 56

This patch will update all current users of SPOSS to the new MOCCA branding. MOCCA will also serve as the "stepping stone" module to the new release in the first quarter of 2008.

Patches 22 - 49

Please note that the functionality below is only a SHORT summary of what has been happening with the older versions of SPOSS since patch 22!

StockControl Module

:: Seperate module with specified user access levels
:: Automatically imports items and sales info from MOCCA modules
:: Purchase Invoice / Batch entries
:: Daily Requisitions to speficied locations
:: Stock-take and Stock level management
:: Consumption & Profit Reports

Point of Sale Module:

:: Ability to print comments on the tillslip - great for remote printing in the kitchen!
:: Touchscreen functionality!
:: Pole display functionality added at POS Stations. Canteens using pole displays improve customer communication and increases user-friendliness!
:: Temporary card purchase - this option can be used to allow customer to make purchases without a proximity/transponder card, by using the employee number. The customer details will be displayed at the POS, with the relevant photo, to verify the details before proceeding with the transaction. This functionality is setup in the Administration Module, and can be limited to selected POS Stations.



Administration Module

:: We have added ‘Company Code' and ‘Cost Centre' fields in Admin Module. This will allow you to capture additional fields to further categorise your customers. Exports to payroll can now exclude customers belonging to a cost centre.
:: First name field length in database changed to 80 characters. This will allow for more detailed customer information.
:: The Database structure has been changed to keep a log of any changes in the monthly contribution. This is crucial to ensure correct customer history reporting and improve audit control over the system.

Cash loader Module

:: NEW DESIGN for the cashloader unit
:: This Module can now accommodate touch screen hardware, which will in turn speed up the deposit process at the Cash loader.
:: The customer's Credit account ‘Available Balance' is displayed on-screen (if Credit Acc exists) – which will allow customer to determine what the balance is on the credit account before making deposits in cash loader (debit account).
:: The new GPT Aurora Note Acceptor can now also be used with the MOCCA Cash loader module - and accommodates all new South African bank notes.

Report Module

:: We have improved the Group Subsidy report order sequence, to allow the user to view the report sorted alphabetically in customer surname sequence.
:: Printing settings in Report Module has been improved to allow for a more user friendly option to select landscape or portrait print settings.

Extractor Module

:: The Extractor Module has been developed to provide detailed customer account analysis.
:: The Extractor enables the user to select from the following options for export to csv file:

    • Choose between all customers / per surname only
    • Debit / Credit accounts / Both
    • Balance types (Available / Running Balances)
    • Transaction Types (Includes all Admin transactions done on the account)
    • Card number & Card Active (Yes / No) & Reason & Issue date
    • Group
    • Monthly Contribution amount
    • Cost Centre

:: The facility greatly enhances month-end and week-end reporting, and balancing routines.

New Customer Import utility:

:: Import Company Code - Specified company code will mark customers automatically as "weekly paid" and will automatically assign the correct contribution.
:: Import Cost Centre Code – this can be used to link customers to a cost centre if they are not personally responsible for the account
:: Import customers directly into the groups that have been added to the system.
:: Mark customers as "subsidised" with import.
:: Automatically create debit / credit / both accounts.
:: Automatically uploads the photo (stored image) of customer according to the image path stored in the import file.

 

New Modules Available (Extra cost) - (Only installable from version 2.86.32):

Rules driven Subsidised Meal Module

The previous versions of SPOSS(MOCCA) catered for Subsidised Meal pricing but did not offer any mechanism to control the quantity or times when these were allowed. This means that if the customer is “subsidised” he/she will be able to purchase Subsidised Meals (marked as subsidised) at any time, any number of quantities, which has led to wide-spread abuse of these privileges.

The new “Subsidised Meals” Module added to the Admin Module of MOCCA now provides for a custom rule base to be added to control this function. It caters for groups / individuals that are allowed to purchase Subsidised Meals at a specified quantity at a specified time for a specified time period during a specified shift. This will allow you to manage and control subsidised meals at your canteen more efficiently.
