A questionnaire based SAM assessment tool together with a thorough knowledge of the environment and complete inventory of IT assets is used to identify weaknesses and maturity level of SAM processes at a customer site. A report identifying areas for improvement in SAM processes or policies is produced and used to prioritise projects for the implementation of an effective SAM process.
